PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

As another shooting and rendezvousing season winds down it seems like it was only last week that the Snow Ball shoot and WVMLA meeting was held at the Tygart Valley Range in Beverly. Next there was the HHH shoot at the Tygart Valley range where we raised $800.00 for the HHH program. The Memorial weekend shoot at Smoot was a very good shoot; they have matches for all kinds of muzzleloaders. The state Offhand and the state Team Shoot were held in August and this year the weather was cooler than in the past. The Mountaineer shoot was held at the Barbour Co.36ers.range on Labor Day Weekend. I have only mentioned some of the larger shooting matches held in West Virginia, but there are club shoots and special matches on most weekends during the year. Check you State Shoot Book for a listing of shooting matches held through out the state.
The WVMLA also puts on two rendezvous each year. Both rendezvous were well attended this year. There are several club rendezvous held through out the year, you can find them in your Shoot Book
It doesn’t matter if you are into Rendezvousing or shooting your support is important. Attend as many events as possible. If a club or rendezvous is canceled, it takes a long time to get them back, if they ever come back.
One way to insure the future of our sport is to increase our membership. There are lots of juniors and wives that would enjoy our sport.  Try bringing them with you the next time you go rendezvousing or shooting.
One last thing, the mid-term elections are in November and your vote is important. We must elect pro gun candidates to office. Our fore fathers worked to protect our right to keep and bear arms. Don’t let some anti gun politicians take them away.
